Great Asset!

I needed an upgrade from units NavMesh system, since agents weren't properly avoiding each other for my RTS game. This integrated and worked perfectly. It was also well documented and had great examples. Best of all, I encountered an issue at 3am on day, and the dev gave me a solution within minutes of my post. I'm lost for words on how awesome that is!

Great, Lightweight Asset

Exactly what I needed in a light framework for getting animations working in DOTS/ECS. Lukas, the Developer, is very helpful if you have any issues and has a good turn around speed for bugs, etc. Two examples, from my experience: 1] The samples wouldn't compile after you changed the Rig Transform Type 2] Humanoid animations weren't supported in version 1.0 (which I bought). Both these issues were resolved in a few days.

Really great stuff, the value of knowledge packed inside this pack is truly amazing. Though some of math behind it is really headache, things like circle intersection and such, i wish the author explains more in details but that might be too much and not necessary. Overall, great asset

VERY Versatile, not typical Unity Asset Slop

While it DOES contain everything you need to make a clone of Tiny Glade, at it's core this has a lot more uses. I've been using this to create the backbone of a building system in a colony sim and it's done most of the heavy lifting for me. If that's the type of game you're making, consider pairing this with Grid Builder 2, they work well together. Code Quality: 9.5/10; It's very readable and a good chunk of methods have comments explaining what it does. Documentation: 10/10, contains readme that directs you to Github page with all the documentation you need. Extendibility: 10/10, core functionality uses interfaces that can be used to extend the core functionality to meet your specific needs.

Literally game changing!

This asset and the Developer are both top-tier. Easy implementation and contains samples to reference. My only concern was this asset uses NavMeshQuery which is obsolete according to the Unity 6 API. This would not be known unless the asset is downloaded. There should be an indication on the Unity asset store that the asset references obsolete method groups. However, through the excellent support by Unity Support Team who put me in contact with the Developer all concerns have vanished. The Developer quickly responded and I have full confidence in the support of this asset. Highly recommended...BUY NOW and support this awesome asset.

This is a fantastic solution for agent navigation. The agents behave like you'd expect, don't get stuck, navigate around each other intelligently, etc. I love this package! First thing I import in my ECS and regular projects.

THE Best Impostor System

I've tried quite a few available solutions and this.. is.. the.. ONE! Not only is the quality unbelievable, it's super easy to generate them (create new impostor, drop your prefab into it, click a button), you can customize your output in Shader Graph - and I haven't even scratched the surface of the other features it comes with. 5/5! :D Edit: My feedback is based on URP, Unity 6 (32f1).

Easy to use pathfinding with impressive performance

I'm using the hybrid approach since I'm more comfortable with the traditional MonoBehaviour design, and it's just amazing that I can get the great performance of ECS without having to make any changes. This blows the built-in navigation system out of the water and can support 100's of agents navigating at once without crushing your fps. My only issue would be with the editor documentation. Some fields in the inspector have tooltips which simply repeat the name of the field (not helpful), use broken English, or don't explain anything at all. Fortunately, everything is pretty straightforward so it shouldn't be a problem.

It'll find its way around your game world

I replaced unity navmesh only with a hybrid solution using Agents Navigation in a quite complex game, and everything improved immediately. Units are no longer stuck on each other or weird terrain, and the code is vastly more efficient. Recommended!

A Must Asset for RTS

The asset is high performant solution for even complex RTS strategy games, similar to wacraft/starcraft, and solves issues even the A* does not. More Detailed Review: Remarks We use this asset for our game, Darfall (rts city builder). As we are now under the Paradox publisher, you can imagine the AI is a core component of our systems and needs to be fast and reliable. The Good - Very performant solution, based on ECS. - Good agent obstacle functionality with numerous settings. - Works with A* pathfinding and NavMesh, which does not require you to rework your entire game if you use this asset (however, we encountered some errors with A* integration at first) - The creator even scheduled a support call with us, which was a very positive sign. - we requested 2 new critical features, even though it took some time, both we eventually adde, which allowed us to continue using the asset for project - I have seen the code, its quite clean and adheres to coding standards, no spaghetti, which is rare case these days Some Hiccups - to be fair, some support was a bit late, or answers on discord took several weeks to get a response. All issues were eventually solved, but this could be improved in the future. - there are some rare cases where agents won't stop and try to get to destination blocked by other agents forever, while components meant to prevent this cannot solve it, as its quite a rare case, however its possible to introduce your own component that can prevent this quite easily Summary If you have a complex RTS with cities, procedurally generated maps, or many units that need very tailored avoidance behavior and you need your units to be snappy, this asset is a must. For us, the A* just did not solve these issues. This solution has just insane performance, much better than A* from our long experience.

where to begin? import is clean, and so are samples urp and hdrp both work flawless if this would somehow support flipbook texture and skinned mesh/or mesh/legacy animation mesh clip baking, then it would be insane!!!!!!!!

Agents work perfectly, good logic smooth movement, works on large scale. The way they collide and path around is really nice.

Super charged ECS development

The API is intuitive, the sample projects illustrate the package functionality, the samples also showcase the best in class ECS design patterns. It would make sense for Unity to incorporate this as an official Entities package.

Impressive Results, Flawless Integration, 2022.3 support

Imposter Graph integrates so cleanly into Unity, it feels like it was made by Unity themselves. Hardly surprising, as the author apparently worked in the Unity URP team. I played around with the graph portion of this asset a bit. It's relatively easy to follow along, it's generating temporary textures and combines them to a few final textures. I was able to make a graph that captures emission into my imposters in less than an hour. For basic needs, I think the two included graphs will work without flaw for most. They seem to create more accurate renders than Amplify. The asset works perfect in Unity 2022.3. I think this asset does everything that Amplify is trying to do but with a cleaner, tighter workflow. The documentation is admittedly a bit sparse, but the learning curve is as close to non-existent as I can imagine for turning something into an imposter. If you have an prefab that uses more advanced shaders/materials, more in-depth documentation or video tutorials of how to leverage the graphing portion would likely be a great value add. Great support from the developer on his Discord, he is active and answered my questions. 5 star, I can recommend this unconditionally. Great for any moderately to large scaled 3D project as a great performance booster.

Best ECS asset ever!

First of all, this navigation package is, honestly, №1 solution for pathfinding for those, who want a really good local avoidance bundled in. Second - Lukas provides incredible customer support. I'm literally just 1 month into Unity development and I was still able to get started with the package in just a day (0 ECS knowledge). Definitely recommend it, you will not regret. Also, I will buy a second seat on discount even though I don't need it, because the package is that good :D Thanks Lukas!!!

Best ECS asset ever!

I'll start this review with some context - I was using Unity's Navigation package, and disliked the limited local avoidance and need to bake constantly. With that in mind I made my own grid/tile based system which used A* and a bunch of tasks to create a relatively good pathfinding system. The local avoidance was.... not so good? It was a mess, with characters taking long routes, and still walking through one another! I jumped on this asset as it was on sale, and honestly I now would pay full price now I know how easy it is to set up and use, and just how robust it is! The results are perfect, and the performance is unholy - I couldn't tell I had 100 units on screen in terms of performance. :) The developer answered the only setup question I had, and did so incredibly promptly (on a weekend!) and with all the patience in the world. I can't recommend this asset enough - the documentation is there, the discord is a wonderful direct way to ask questions, nothing could be better. All assets should be this calibre. :) Update (18-04-23) Still going strong! My game is miles ahead thanks to this asset. It's about the same experience as the Unity NavMesh, but... the system that's here is so much smarter at local avoidance. :) It's a treat to use, and my game is lightyears ahead thanks to this asset, so much so I'm coming back to re-iterate it!
